The Kilbirnie was built in the late 1930’s as one of the first hotels on Narrowcliff in Newquay. The name ‘Kilbirnie’ has never changed and is believed to originate from the Scottish hometown of the first owners. Originally a small, family run establishment, it has seen several transformations over the years; new ownership and recent investment has seen the hotel outlast many of its original neighbours.
Today, we offer a bright contemporary style, whilst retaining the warm, friendly atmosphere that has inspired returning guests to include our hotel in the holiday memories of many generations of their family. Our most famous guest, King Charles III, then HRH The Prince of Wales, attended a ‘Cornwall Duchy Luncheon’ here in 1972.
Kilbirnie Hotel is not just a building, to us she is an ‘Old Lady’, still elegant and welcoming after all these years. She is our happy place, and our whole team enjoy sharing her with our guests.
A whole host of wonderful people work here to provide the full guest experience. From management, admin, cleaning, front of house, waiting staff, chefs and more. Service is our speciality, from our family to yours – making happy holidays.
Our amazing team take pride in our hotel, and love to share ‘the Old Lady’ with our guests. If you’re interested in joining the team, there can be a variety of roles available. Please enquire with reception.
An ample 30 car parking spaces are available on-site at the hotel, subject to availability. Chargeable at £8 per vehicle, per night, payment is required at the reception desk on arrival. Our car park operates on a first come, first served basis and is intended for hotel patrons only.
